The compass, formerly known as Sinan in ancient times, is mainly composed of a magnetic needle mounted on a shaft. The magnetic needle can freely rotate and remain in the tangential direction of the magnetic meridian under the action of the natural geomagnetic field. The south pole of the magnetic needle points to the geographic south pole(Magnetic North Pole)By utilizing this performance, direction can be identified. Today, a compass themed clock was made using a laser cutting machine.
